Blue Finance
The Blue Finance Innovation Team explore types of blue finance and mechanisms and opportunities for access by the different practitioners within the WIO region while taking into consideration environment concerns.
The innovation team seeks to:
- 1. Blue’ing finance
- Building awareness and capacity amongst financial institutions on an ISBE.
- Advocate for the adoption of the SBEFP amongst financial institutions financing the blue economy in the region.
- Facilitate the adoption of blue economic sector guidance into ESG and relevant policies within financial institutions.
- 2. Financing blue
- Establish a financing mechanism(s) to support attracting finance towards ISBE.
- Support business development to secure pipeline for ISBE (ensuring collaboration with other ITs such as the community livelihood IT and the SWIO Venture Builder.
- Fundraising to support OBF strategy and projects.
