Blue Fisheries
The Blue Fisheries Innovation Team works closely with key stakeholders in the fisheries sector to develop innovative solutions to address IUU fishing, drive small scale and commercial fisheries to sustainability and promote fair, equitable and sustainable fisheries access arrangements
The innovation team seeks to:
- Enhance public awareness and scientific knowledge on high value commercial fisheries: issues and challenges in the region
- Mobilize key stakeholders to coordinate and jointly address the priority issues and challenges.
- Support WIO governments and CSOs’ capacity in fisheries compliance and negotiations.
- Support CSOs in effectively advocating for improved national and regional fisheries governance.
