Circular Economy
The Circular Economy Innovation Team was initiated to bring focus and traction to circular economy on the ground. This Innovation Team focuses on rapid country assessments across all sectors of circular economy to identify and define project opportunities that could have positive effect on blue economy outcomes.
The innovation team seeks to:
- Strengthen capacity and multi-stakeholder membership of the Innovation Team, from within and beyond the WIO region.
- Prioritize the circular economy approach for the transition to an ISBE and a concrete and participatory action plan to deliver its strategy.
- Identify a portfolio of high potential, high impact, financially viable circular economy project opportunities linked to the coasts and the ocean, that the innovation team could support in WIO countries.
- Identify donor funding opportunities to enable the innovation team to support these projects that have been identified and are being mobilized.
